We compare your XI's combined attacking output (non-penalty xG plus expected assists per 90) to the strongest available XI in the same shape, and translate the difference into a change in expected goals per match — which flows through the fixtures to give expected points.
Formations here are position-slot constraints only. The tactical effect of a shape (pressing structure, build-up patterns) cannot be modelled from the available data, so it is not included — this is an attacking-output tool, not a tactics engine.
